Kara Kurcz

Kara Kurcz is a relentless force in crime journalism and the founder of Motiv8 Media. By age 21, she was already profiling stories that captured multiple fugitives on America's Most Wanted. She has produced and directed hundreds of hours of crime television, unraveling complex murders and bringing missing children home. Her unparalleled access to the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, DEA, local police, and armchair detectives has enabled her to tell compelling, victim-forward, rare, and untouchable stories.

Kara has created multiple series, including "Mark of a Serial Killer" and "Violent Minds" on Oxygen. Her work spans genres from live TV to crime and comedy; she has collaborated with award-winning talents like Jane Lynch. Her company has co-produced shows such as "Live PD" and "Chasing the Cure" with Ann Curry, earning a Critics' Choice Award for Best Live Show. Kara's determination extends beyond producing; she has a unique talent for uncovering new information and conducting high-profile interviews. Her work in documentaries and on corporate national campaigns has received several accolades and awards, and she has appeared as a commentator on NBC, FOX News, and MSNBC.

Kara understands how to build a brand and has also worked in the fashion industry, co-founding Solas Fashion, which revolutionized the handbag industry with the first handbag featuring an interior light. In addition to her media career, Kara is a health coach and Reiki Practitioner and self-proclaimed "Stresspert."  She advocates passionately for work-life balance and health and has dedicated herself to studying the effects of stress on the body and mind, working with institutions like Cedars Sinai's Sleep Lab, Berkeley's Department of Neuroscience, and McGill's cognitive research facility. 

Kara's production company, Motiv8 Media, is renowned for creating out-of-the-box programming, from live studio-based series to high-end recreations, award-winning digital content, and documentaries to podcasts.  However, her most significant accomplishment is being the mother of two wonderful children, who are already learning the art of interrogation.
